StoryJumper is a website that allows kids to create their own books. Students can easily create cover pages, add text, upload drawings or photos to illustrate their story, and you can use the StoryJumper clipart gallery, too. When the stories are finished the hardcover books can
be purchased. I could possibly just use this site as an interactive group writing experience and have my students create a story together or in small groups and then publish them for the classroom. I do not feel that this would be appropriate for all of my students in my kindergarten
class, however it would provide a nice challenge for those students that are excelling in reading and writing. Also, after students are finished creating a story they do not have to publish it. It can be emailed to their family. I would use StoryJumper-Classroom edition which gives teachers an interface to manage and review students' work. It also enables kids to share stories between school and home. Furthermore it allows for the teachers to maintain strict privacy controls over students information.
